So after the full-tilt boogie that was September, the first few weeks of October blazed in, then slammed on the breaks. Right around the ides, in case you were wondering. And I’m talking about a hellacious nails-on-the-chalkboard screeching, oh-my-frickin’-God whiplash from hitting the brick wall of productivity, full stop.
Yeah, my rent-a-muse totally bailed on me. She was a flighty wench. Next time I’m totally requesting the cabana boy version, but like I tell the ravens, you get what you get, and you don’t get upset. I mean, unless it’s skim milk in your coffee. That shit’s disgusting.
Anywho, despite my lack of creativity, some seriously awesome stuff went down in October. I officially had my fifteen minutes of fame as a panelist for DIY MFA, detailing my author’s journey up to now. It was nerve wracking to say the least, but I managed to not only get through it, but also land a couple of guest blog posts for them. The first is scheduled to be published November 10th… and somehow led into me writing a regular column for them. For real! Come 2023, I’ve got an actual gig. I know, right?! It shocked the hell out of me too, but I’ve been assured they’re totally serious about it. I’ll be sure to hook y’all up with the links.
The RWA’s Romance Author Membership Program also wrapped up this month with their pitch event. And ladies and gentlemen, the universe smiled on me with three publishers requesting fulls of my manuscript. Yep, the querying train is barreling ahead full steam, and might actually get somewhere. Here’s hoping that’s not off the side of a mountain. Send sherpas if you don’t hear from me next month.
In other news, I’ve officially launched my social media platforms. These you are encouraged to laugh at. I’m a total techno-phobe when it comes to posting, tweeting, or whatever those crazy kids are calling it these days. If you’re up for a chuckle, pop in and say hi! Now you can find me on my website, Facebook, and Twitter. Prayers are appreciated.
