There’s big doings afoot in the Never-verse this July, and I’m way excited! Flame & Shadow, the first book in my urban fantasy series, has won a coveted spot in the Romance Writers of America’s RAMP program. Yeah, for reals. RAMP_Mentees.aspx
Think My Fair Lady meets Kim Harrison’s Hollows Series and you’ve pretty much got it. You can read more here: https://aknevermore.com/books/… should it strike your fancy. I’ve just wrapped up writing the second installment, and am on to edits before it goes out to my beta readers. I’ve also got an exclusive short story available being released to my newsletter subscribers, so if you haven’t signed up, hop to it!
On the home front, our kitchen renovation continues to provide plenty of juicy content for my next project. Thanks to water damage, we’ve had to gut it completely, to include the subfloor. Not that a delaminated plywood trampoline wasn’t fun, but it was a little too tempting for the ravens. Before they could pull a Rumpelstiltskin and fall through the damned thing, Mr. Nevermore and Edgar replaced it, much to the kiddos’s dismay.
And here’s a Pro-Tip for y’all: Gravity’s a thing. In the event you have a room that’s oh, I don’t know, say full of Legos, directly beneath the one being renovated, it would behoove you to pick them up before beginning the demolition.
Seriously. Ask me how I know.
What else went down in July? Aside from the ongoing kitchen calamity, there was the invasion of the trash pandas. You haven’t lived until you’ve witnessed my mother tricking out her back porch into a gestapo. Yeah, for real. But for all the details on that dumpster fire, you’ll have to sign up for my newsletter. Just plug your email into that box to the right and I’ll hook you up with a sample of the insanity… trust me, it’s totally worth it.
