So what’s the story with September? Whelp, lemme just lay it out—
I signed the contract for the Dae Diaries book 2, Air & Darkness, an audio deal for Flame & Shadow, and, oh yeah, you can pre-order it, too.
Wait, What?!
Yep. Surprise!!
The wheels have been in motion for an audio book for a while, but the process is frickin’ trippy, ya’ll. Like, hearing people’s interpretation of my characters seriously blew my mind. It gave me an entirely different perspective on writing.
Which brings me to this public service announcement:
Brennan’s “European drawl” does not sound like Count Chocula. Seriously. That’s so not sexy. Think more sardonic British exchange student.
And the other part of my big news? Yep, you read that right, Air & Darkness is officially a go! I’m hoping to see it on the shelves sometime next year.
My publisher’s given me a hardcore editing schedule, so it should be doable, but some of my other projects (like hooking you up with another novella) are being put on the back burner. Hold up — speaking of novellas, whatever happened to Playing with Fire? Wasn’t that supposed to be basically done?
Mmm… Yeah. About that…
So, it totally is. I sent it to my editor and he sent it back. It was all pretty and wrapped up in a caution tape bow that said PLOT HOLE.
And damn it if he wasn’t right.
Don’t get me wrong, the story’s solid, but my release sequence was not. It’s shifting position in the line up as a bonus novella to book 3… that I haven’t actually written yet. Sorry, I suck, but that’s the problem with being glamoured and then regaining your memories.
Which means I owe you guys a story. I promise to squeeze it in between all of the other projects, and if you’ve got questions you need answered about Envy and the gang, shoot me an email! If it strikes my fancy, I could just end up riffing on it!
